Ending Twist Poem by Matt Burgett

Ending Twist

As cloudy skies on the horizon near
A rain storm approaching is what I fear
It was just a week before
That I wished it would poor

Sitting in this attic
Looking out in the distance
Wondering if you are OK
Trying not to panic

I wonder about you night and day
When I work and when I play
I wonder were you are
And if you are OK

I take a breath in deep
Look into the approaching fog and see
My beautiful baby
Sitting in a tree watching me

I walk out to see her
And she jumps into my arms
The lightning strikes, the rain pouring now
Kissing her asking how
She looks up and says that she loves me now
