slowly does the rain fall
bits and parts
excoriating the love which blew him apart
as he slowly walks
as to part from his soul
for they both at the same rate
walk in opposite ways

fearing both of the same things
to let go of the past
as it’s always a dream
seeing her
walking by his side too
in both spirit and vessel
but now
slowly withering away
is the memory he wishes to let go
but cannot

he now walks in this rain
letting his breath freeze
letting it all waste in the drains far below

in this endless rain
there he’d be walking
where he wishes to part with his shimmering past
wasting away
as tears falls apart

walking away
pinch himself to wake
in this endless rain
roaring toward sky’s vault
feeling as if it’s all his fault

leaving of the past
following his heart
wanting to let go
but he
just
cannot
