Enemy Within Poem by alex simonson

Enemy Within

I am not cast from any mold
I am loud, outspoken, powerful and bold
So full of pride I'll weather any cold

Anger and hate fight to control my core
I will never give up I can always handle more
My life has been a ruthless never ending war

Out numbered six billion to one
When others grimace I say bring on the fun
Surrounded by darkness that blocks out the sun

Foolishly thinking that I was the prey
I make my enemy quiver and run away
Begging me to let them witness one more day

Just as my adversary thinks they have my number
I shift, rotate, destroy and dismember
Burn their world till all that remains is an ember

I have been broken and beaten but I hold my head up high
Leaving my challengers on their back looking at the sky
Today I go on living today I do not give up and die!
