Enjoy Life Poem by Franklin Spriggs

Enjoy Life

As I grow older and older,
Trying not to waste the time,
Of the precious hours that are given,
Each day a perfect rhyme.

Not to take for granted,
The things that are so free,
Not dwelling upon the days of old,
But of things that shall ever be.

For life is but for a moment,
But in youth it seems so long,
In the blink of an eye, where did it go,
Most of life is already gone.

Do all you can to love and honor,
Life is not the things we have on earth,
All the things life puts before you,
Not loving while you can is the worst.

Before the hair turns to silver,
And wrinkles abound more and more,
Not to many years left ahead,
Then we fly to a distant shore.

So make the best of every day,
Enjoy it while you can,
For life is a very short journey,
Not long enough for mortal man.
