Ennui, Ennui, Ennui Poem by RIC BASTASA

Ennui, Ennui, Ennui

if the usual delicious things
everyday, every night
you realize these are of no importance
and there is therefore no use
of being earnest

the most unusual delicacy
summons you to just sit down
watch a sunset and then just be
very silent

on this necessity
of waiting.
