Enterprise Poem by Joanne Kearsey

Enterprise

Being backed into a corner with no sign of escape,
No attention is given to those who are lost,
Seeing the boundless darkness that will never come into light,
And no-one caring about the disastrous cost.

Seven more people come out of life to the other side,
Realising that nothing is as it was before,
Coming towards something that was forgotten again,
Because we are always wanting more.

Staying out of sight and out of mind so no one can find you again,
Playing it safe until the dangers go away,
Leaving behind the mess that was here when you came,
As it will be cleaned up by you some day.

Coming into a clearing that shows no sign of humanity
Rushing into the world that is filled with so much hatred and greed,
Becoming the one who remains lost in the light,
As they are the one's who still need to feed.
