Envy Poem by Stefanie Fontker

Envy

Envy! How green
Emerald to the world
Is it you I have seen
Visiting me, old one
Let us embrace
How you sit in me
A taint I will not,
Could not fight
Stitched to my skin
How far will we travel?
Help me hurt them
Those who take
What I so desperately
Crave, how I need
My disease, she burns
But oh Envy, would she
Stay, here with us
Let us persuade her so
Captive, kidnapped, I wonder
Why is it that she has me
Envy! Are you lost?
Oh, why does he get her?
How she loves him
And how I cry steep
Envy, Envy!
It's with you I sleep
