Eschatology And Serenity Poem by Joseph Narusiewicz

Eschatology And Serenity

Eschatology has a certain freeing affect like the serenity prayer. We can act now but always know what doesn't get worked out now will in Gods time. A person going down a one way street with ditches on both sides should drive in the middle of the road. One ditch is we do nothing and just throw our garbage out the window and the other ditch is we have to do everything and when it doesn't get done we feel guilty, neurotic, depressed and totally responsible.
Marx called religion the opium of the masses and told people to quit waiting for pie in the sky; that real change is in our uniting and changing things. Look at the world...it is worse than ever.
There is a devil and a third of the angels fell with him. Read Luke 4 and see that satan tempted the Lord with giving him the kingdoms in his control. Politics and secular humanism will never take that as truth.
We all want to change the world and wished it was a better place. I certainly do and I will vote etc but now I am also relaxed in my faith that God will straighten it out in due time. I am trying to drive more in the middle of the road. My buttons are not as easily pushed but I still try to fight evil today in my life. I look at our times like the sirens are going off. Like it is the time of sorrows mentioned in the Scriptures before the great tribulation period. My faith has become more precious and I await God bringing down this mess not a revolution of man with his ideologies, technology, political machines and will.
I am with drawing from those who are on antidepressants telling me to be a good socialist and fight everything by political power. For all evil I see I need to see beauty and balance is a key. I also believe in the power of prayer and praise and the love of God with joy and peace. Certainly I am in the war of love and want to be used but I don't want to be as one beating the air using all my energy to get no where. I totally understand people for social justice but I see so many who accomplish so little and they stay so neurotic and unhealthy and can't take the death of their families etc. Real faith in Christ deals with death not just economic justice and distribution of wealth and the means of production in the hands of the proletariat and working class. I have to take time for music, art, beauty and nature and praise while I stand against the Monsanto's and evil in every which direction. The world doesn't need one more depressed neurotic fanatic frothing at the mouth with a life that doesn't reflect peace, joy and love.
A person who doesn't believe that God is going to make all things right in his time is under the heavy heavy weight of us having to do it alone. They become so weighed down in a insane time like this. it is a daunting and impossible task to change the world without God and prophecy is a relief from this burden. Prophecy and eschatology by revelation tells the judgements are coming to clean up the mess and God is going to help straighten things out They bring hope because things truly need to change and man is not doing it.

'Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself.
There never was a democracy yet that did not commit suicide.' — John Adams

Utopian thinking never takes into account the fall of man. The belief that we can create a good society based on the goodness of man is a totally non biblical principle. I believe like John Adams our former president and one of the founders of America that our democracy is waning. The Greek man is a myth....man is fallen. The times of the Gentiles are coming to an end. Man linked with fallen angels and principalities of dark power is coming to an end. Wear your politics loosely my friends. Seek the things above not a false restoration of the past. I vote, I try to make a difference but Christ has resurrected and this world is heading into a Great Tribulation period. That fine line of balance is essential or movements can sweep you away. Political hope is very volatile with shifting winds. Stand on the Rock of ages.
If their is no God then the burden is squarely on man...this weight crushes movements and individuals with its impossible weight to carry. Liberation theologies sound great and utopian ideologies are tempting but the true implication is insanity, depression and despair... all the kings horses and all the kings men cannot put humpty dumpty together again.....this generation is truly feeling that we cannot get out of this mess by plugging up the dam with more fingers, we are out of them. This generation is loosing hope yet with this age of post modernism and deconstruction no real faith is there to take the burden and responsibility off of man. His movements try to play the Wizard of Oz as toto gets behind the curtain and shows the bravado and utopian mask for what it is..DESPERATE and lost. Logical positivism and positive thinking and a more perfect union doesn't change the facts. I feel sorry for secular humanists...i feel sorry for political activists under the guise we must change things, I feel sorry for those who carry a weight that pulverizes them into the dust of despair and death.
Many of the founders were not true Christians but Enlightenment men who did not accept the fall of man and they idealized more of what democracy could do and become. Adams as a Christian had more insight and he knew our democracy would run its course. For many democracy and politics is a religion and therefore an idol.
We as Christians walk that narrow gate of being beneficial to the world now without becoming depressed. We have God grant me the serenity.......Joe
