Estauriko A # 1 - Ang Krus (The Cross) Poem by Yehoshua Shim'onai

Estauriko A # 1 - Ang Krus (The Cross)

Ang estauro ni Cristo
Ay hindi pagkasawi
Ngunit sa *Seol ay pagtalo
At sa kasalana'y paggapi.

(The wooden cross of Jesus
Is not a sign of defeat
But a victory over Hades
And a triumph over sin is it.)

*(Or Sheol) A Hebrew word for graveyard

Well the cross there is not literally the very cross where Jesus was crucified. The wooden cross in that poem represents the atoning sacrifice of the Lord for the salvation of many. I understand why you misunderstood my poem. However, we should also understand that in poems, we speak of things not in the literal but in the figurative way. It's not the cross that my poem is concerned about - it is the work of our Lord Jesus Christ, as what you have said, that His atoning work is not a defeat but a victory. Therefore, we need not argue about it, for we do not differ in our beliefs. Anyway, God bless you, brother! Praises and glory be to our God and King forevermore! ! ! : D
