'Eternal' Love Poem by Ivan Cheong

'Eternal' Love

I assure you that love is as eternal as a huge rock,
it does last for so long.
Love is indeed a rock that stands through centries!
It lasts, it is strengthened; it fades, it is then weakened. It is still there.
It is shaped as the nature runs its course,
it will be shaped as broken pieces on the sandy beach.
Love is indeed like a rock,
it is eroded by the sea, shaped into a pointy rock on the windy shore.
Men are frightened to approach, but, they still lean on it,
childishly having a hope that they can soften the angles on the rock.
They do occasionally succeed, but,
the rock becomes sands everywhere.

Love is actually formed with those sands,
there might not be the original sands,
but, it is formed, in its new shape.
Respect it! Every love is unique
with its broken pieces.
Who still dares to say love is not eternal?
