Eternal Pursuit
I have grown to be my mother’s son
but not for you
growing up to be who I’d be
so wrong and true
in your sight
in my flight
in pursuit
I have walked upon the ocean floor
but not for me
swam through waters swinging door
springs ever be
in the ground
in the sound
in pursuit
I have flown beyond gravity’s grasp
but not with you
soaring passed the star’s explosions
of flash and hue
sailing deeper into darkness
into light
into night
in pursuit
