Ethereal Slumber Poem by Karen Wood

Ethereal Slumber

A momentary sound,
So lyrical in its passing.
Like the earth sighing
As the amber glow
Fades slowly on the horizon,
And the night,
Holds the earth in its thrall once more.

Such beauty, shrouded by harsh daylight,
Sighs, and falls gently
Into the waiting arms of night.
The moon smiles
And seems to hear the lyrical sound,
As the earth relaxes into ethereal slumber.
Refreshing its energies for the day ahead.

One momentary silence is all the earth is allowed
Before the amber light rises once again
And the lyrical sound is gone.
Replaced, by the myriad of voices
Of the creations of the universe.
Paying no heed to the wants and needs of anyone,
But themselves.
