Eva Poem by GEN Nelson

Eva

Eva, the glittering ghoul of all we know
Flitting past us to and fro
Metal eyes absorb the dark
As she feeds upon a lark
Her whispers keep the old man up
"Are my final hours up? "
Her body makes the woman glare
Doubtless envy in the spouse's stare
A small child has no more wonder
The sky resounds with equal thunder
Human hearts are things for play
If she pleases, she'll make them sway
Eva, the beautiful terror, all around
Throne is empty, yet always crowned
