Eva Cassidy—songbird Poem by Walterrean Salley

Eva Cassidy—songbird

Rating: 5.0

Soon gone—
The golden voice
That rose on the wings of its
Time, and soared in the winds of a
New day.

At Charlie, As for your comment on Eva Cassidy, I think that SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW is my favorite. Probably because I grew up watching the movie ‘The Wizard of Oz.” And that song became such a fixture—not only in my life, but in many lives. It lead us to believe that we could do anything. “If birds fly over the rainbow, then why can’t I.” And she [Eva], too, was such a phenomenal guitarist. Indeed, hers was a sad loss. Thanks Charlie.
