Evading Tears Poem by Julie Neises

Evading Tears

Rating: 5.0

I'm walking through a valley
where everything is bright.
No more anger or depression,
nor hot tears of spite.

I look up to the sky,
to peer into the mellow blue.
And that's when I remember
just how much I miss you.

Out of nowhere
the sky turned shades of grey.
My knees turned to jello
and I began to sway.

The rain would soon begin,
that much was clear.
So off I ran for shelter
despite my growing fear.

I was nearly half way home,
when my worst fear began.
The rain in my mind was falling,
and it was all that I could stand.

I ran a little harder
dodging the pouring rain.
I looked for somewhere to go
where I could hide my pain.

There was no one that could help me
take back all my mistakes.
At that very moment
my lonely heart did break.

For thoughts of you
will hurt for years.
And I'll just cotinue
evading tears.

The passion and pain, tears and falling rain have all been put together beautifully. Keep writing, you have a real talent.

Julie (or Jules, as I like to call you) - This is a fantastic poem and is indicative of your talents as a poet. For starters, the title is awesome. Your brightness is gradually changed by the feelings that forever loom within you, only to become more desperate with each subsequent realization. It is the desperation I seem to be transfixed by. Simply put, it is awesome. A 10! ! Stone
