Evanescence Poem by G J Salgado

Evanescence

Do you miss me now that I am free?
I was there for you all everyday but you did not appreciate me,
Who was there to take control and pick you back up again?
Now I am my own destiny and we have never been friends.
Don't you wish that things were different?
I do not because I have no regrets.
The one that you use to know has come to an end,
And I am not the same,
My fate I will defend,
All of the ones that gave me grief shall pay,
It all began once before on that very day.
I will waste away no more,
My tears have been washed away,
And in the rain they will pour.
For you; I have nothing left to give,
It is for my own will to live,
You beg of me and then ask why?
I have chosen to live and have never felt more alive!
This war against me; I have already won,
I breathe through a new soul, body, and lungs;
This is what I am until the end,
It has been written before it all began.
I will devour it all in an instant in only one swallow,
There is nothing left of you; not even to turn your back on me,
All left without; now all of you left hollow,
As you are filled in self-righteous hypocrisy.
None of these petty things mean anything,
All that has meaning is that I am now everything,
All that I am is no longer a feather in the wind,
I no longer dwell in your shadows and I am the dark of light in the end.
I am the Sparrow that soars through the clouds,
I endure it all for these changes I am proud.
I lay upon the heavens looking down upon it all,
But this time I will not be there when you fall.
I am the Sparrow that does not chase her own feathers in the wind,
I am the true Sparrow that has lived through it all and I become the wind once again,
All these I have warned you of,
Meant nothing to you before; but now suddenly it does.
This is what I wanted you to remember as I walked out the door,
You should be more careful with what you wish for.
I have granted it to you in all and every truth,
An eye for an eye; and a tooth for a tooth,
In all your own filth you will dwell,
This self inflicted oblivious hell.
I tried to tell you before but you wouldn't listen,
Had you at my feet once and again,
But this I say unto you as you were warned,
Feel my wind as I, Nevera release the storm,
Hear my laughter in the thunder,
As you look up high trying to find me and wonder,
What did I do to deserve this?
Then I answer as I sit on my throne of bliss.
The future of this has been told,
I am ageless now as I never grow old,
In my own arms your fate I hold,
This is the one known as Nevera; behold,
For I am awake and this is my revenge thereafter,
Hear my voice as it echoes with laughter.
I have an everlasting Immortal life,
See me as you suffer in horrible strife.
Feel my tears as they rain upon you.
Finding their way back as it is what I must do.
These are the things that I cannot undo,
Unraveling all that is subdued.
See through my eyes between the lightning,
You will now pay for all that you have done to me, everything.
Hear the thunder as it rolls,
Listen for whom the bell tolls.
I will show no regret as I will have no mercy,
As you once showed me the same courtesy,
Feel the storms as they rage in,
As you look toward the end,
My blood falls upon the sky,
Hear my voice as it echoes with laughter,
As I live as Nevera in my own happily ever after!
Then the winds begin to change,
Just as they will always remain.
The sun and the ocean begin to rise,
Nevera's wings within her wrath cross the skies.
Just as they were once before,
At this moment, all of the evil souls of the earth will soon turn to dust.
As they always were before.
~And she said...'It will be wonderful, ' and it was!
