Even In This Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Even In This

Why I turn mild?
When see small child
Despite in great rage
I wish to open new print on page

Not because small children make it worthwhile
But they have their own style
Throw innocent smile for no reason
And make the happy even cruel person!

Had there been no lovely creation?
In the form of child in our relation
It would have been simple desert
For nothing new to insert

I make no difference
When find chance
To see even poor child
I get so happy and wild

My heart opens like fresh petal
On simple arrival
Of beautiful smile
With no return of favor meanwhile

I wish I could remain
And maintain
Same innocent gesture
Even in this hostile nature?

I wish I could remain
And maintain
Same innocent gesture
Even in this hostile nature?
