Even The Angels Cried Poem by shannon wright

Even The Angels Cried

Rating: 5.0

I stood beside you
as you slumbered
peaceful in your forever sleep
hopeless washed over helpless
nothing left to do but weep into hands
tied by circumstance
I swear even the angels wept
as they carried you away
I will always wonder
if watching idle was the thing to do
or did I help kill you in my own way.
however it happened,
I know you.
your forgiveness always abounds
someday you will wrap me in your wings
and sing a song to remind me
that we will never have to say goodbye again.

This is so very moving Shannon. Having lost my husband just over a year ago, and being with him when he passed away, this is very appropriate to me.. Thank you for writing it, and sharing it with us. Love and hugs Ernestine XXX
