Ever Before Me Poem by Jennifer Rosario

Ever Before Me

Your words envelop my soul.
They press into me like fire
On the coldest of nights.
When I hear your voice
I'm wrapped up in garments made of silk.
I'm covered in the deep crimson of promise.
I'm lifted up to the highest Heavens.
I'm draped in mercy, caught up in ecstasy,
engulfed by your love.
Loneliness can not find its way to my house,
Nor can dread lay its fist at my door.

For this-
I follow you.

Because of this-
My steps are yours.

I cast my life as far as east is from the west
And I willingly accept your plan for my life.
Prepare my future.
Destroy my past.
Your mercies are new every morning.
You come near to me and cleanse me with hyssop.
You seat me in white at the foot of your throne.
Your songs drift above me like angels hovering on high.

Your heart is ever before me.
I am yours.
And you are mine.
For ever
And ever
Until the closing of time.
