Evergreen Poem by Andrus Cassian

Evergreen

A million miles away is the path Balance treads
in an exchange program with Chaos and his apprentice Inquiry
Everything's wrong, something's off
a week of bittersweet trials give way to a week of deathly fatalities
and tear-jerking funerals
How did the equillibrium fall out of sync
Where did the angels fly off to
to leave their people unprotected
Dark new day, those are dark new days
though the scenary is evergreen
It appears the circle of life is present
along with the rain falling from eyes causing the very plants to grow
Growing up, growing up
we complain about the very lives and times we waste
in wake of bodies piling up day after day
Is this a plague
a new wave of sadistic forces
or just another part of life we have yet to grip
Maybe the news will give voice to answers
or persist to shroud us in ignorant darkness
as we still scramble for the possible answer impossible to find
