Every Day I Walk Through Fire Poem by Brett White

Every Day I Walk Through Fire

Every day I walk through Fire,
I look around and you're not there.
The flames are licking the Funeral Pyre,
My moist tears are smear'd by the dampen'd air.

I call thy name to no reply,
My voice echoes in Nature's cold embrace.
I scream thy name with a Why?
Tears - they burn - across my face.

My knees hit the ground, completely defeat'd;
Dirt streaks my face, Nature's Kiss.
I long for my throne, beside me thou'rt seated,
My eyes sting with passion for the One I miss.

A confused soul begs for mercy -
Divine Intervention is for what I pray;
How could the one I love the most Hurt Me?
Completely deafeat'd, here is where I shall stay.
