Everybody Like A Sunset - Poem by Reuel James

Everybody likes a sunset
With
Its gold and crimson
Freshly painted across the sky
A wonder to behold
But it has signaled
The end
Of a day that must have been
Beautiful.
For at the end of an overcast day
The sunset will be present
But hidden.
So the day
Must be lived
And before the day
The sunrise
Which normally passes unnoticed.
Just as few
Are there
To welcome new-born baby
Into the world
Who they call great
At the end of his life
But everybody likes a sunset.
