Everyday Poem by Dianna Nally

Everyday

Everyday when you wake up
You know there will be food for your table.
But some where out there, there is a child starving,
A father looking to feed it, but is unable

Every night when you come home
You play a game or watch television
But another child is out there waiting
in line to find warmth in a noisy, crowded mission.

Everyday you get up early
to get ready to go to school.
But another family is living in their car,
The child with a cup in hand, begging for money for fuel.

Every night at bedtime
your mother tucks you in, and Say's she loves you.
But there is a child out there with no one
A child wishing he had all of the things that you do.

So be happy for what you have,
Don't take it for granted.
Sometimes cruel things happen in this world
And you never know if what you have will be recanted.

ALWAYS KEEP YOUR EYES AND YOUR HEART OPEN! ! !
