Everyday Hunger Poem by Chris Darlington

Everyday Hunger

Rating: 5.0

Everyday Hunger
Each day I feed the hunger to write
I need my fulfilment of words
All around I try to drink in images
I have an unquenchable thirst for stories

Out in the street I see African children
Starved of knowledge and nourishment
They grow music in their sunshine fields
Their distant songs echo in my head.

The long walk back consumes me
The flashing images of the day.
When night comes I sadly dream
Of chocolate alphabets for the children.

Nice poem. Very effectively conceived. Great imagery with a lot of love for the wretched children. Extremely moving. Keep it up. I rated it 10. Thanks for sharing..... Kindly read and rate my poem 'A humble complaint' on page 2. Akmal
