Example Poem by Cynthia Buhain-baello

Example

What we feed to the children
In words, actions, and example
Will later form them in the end
Into better or bitter people.

The attitudes and views we give
Our children will readily observe
Into vessels they are thus received
These things of life they absorb.

Our many words and our little ways
They will influence and they will mold
As we see the youth's passing days
We reproduce the children we now hold.

So with care and with much diligence
Let us all take heed what we say
And with greater watchfulness hence
Guard our thoughts and actions today.

'We teach what we know,
we reproduce what we are.'
