Existence Poem by Nate Hawk

Existence

Rating: 3.5

Walking down the way,
Just another autumn day
Watching leaves fall,
As the trees gently sway
Whether the sun is shining,
Or the snow flakes lay
To me it's all one,
They all seem the same

Now I don't want to go,
But I don't want to stay
I know what I'm thinking,
But not what to say
So I stand here, silent,
In the mess I've made
One thought on my mind,
I wasn't meant for this place

Now I know who I am,
But everybody else won't
Don't know what I want to be,
I just know what I don't
The Illusions I wear,
Drive me close to despair
And all I see in the mirror,
Is I'm beyond repair

Now I'm scared of the fight,
But I'm built to resist
I won't ever give in,
Never cease nor desist
So if nobody ever needs me,
I'll just have to insist
To persist against my self,
All I ask for, is to exist
