Eyes Cannot Lie Poem by Rhea Smith

Eyes Cannot Lie

Whenever words fail you
I hope to god your eyes don't
'cause your eyes speak the truth
Betray innocence of youth
When lies roll tongue to tooth
Your iris reveals you

When they stop listening
Pray to god they hear the tears
'Cause no one hears you bleed
'Cause no one hears your fears
And you'll find the truth sears
Stubborn flesh, blistering.
