I wake up each morning and wonder
Who shall I be today?
As I view my many faces and ponder
Who shall I display?
I keep faces for my many friends
And some stored for my family
I even have a few for my elders
And at least one for my enemies
I have a really good happy face
And another for when I'm blue
I have faces for everyone
Even for strangers too
I take care of my many disguises
And they take care of me
They stop the tears from coming
And hides away the insecurities.
When alone, I imagine a life without faces
A life where I'm completely free
I can do away with my disguises
And just simply be me
Unfortunately, this is not the case
But I must make it through the day
So, I need my many faces
To at least help keep the pain away
