Fairytale Ending Poem by Hannah Ward

Fairytale Ending

Rating: 5.0

Once upon a time, there was a little girl,
She was frail and shy, and sheltered from the world.
And then one day, a new boy came along,
With feelings she didn’t understand and thought they were wrong.
This girl had heard of love, but she knew little more,
She was so innocent, so young of heart and pure.
She didn’t know how to act, or what to do,
Everything felt peculiar as everything was new.
He took her by the hand, assured her ‘ it’s ok!
I know that you are timid, we’ll take it slow, all the way’
The little girl smiled, and hoped this to be real,
She hoped that she no longer her concerns must conceal.
And so her heart he took, along with her whole life,
And she secretly hoped to one day be his wife.
And then one day, she confided with a whisper,
‘ You, my dear, complete me-’ but he stopped her and he kissed her-
‘ I love you so dearly, I love you very much,
You take my breath away every second that we touch.
I feel you in the air, I feel you by my side,
And I know that it’s only in you that I can confide.
And so this I must say, coming from my soul,
From the moment you first clasped me, I never let you go.
You showed me how to feel, that it is okay to love,
My dear, you’re my Angel, sent from God above! ’
She looked at him and smiled, and finished with a sigh,
As one sincerely happy tear, escaped from each eye.
She took him in her arms and pleaded him to stay,
Made him truly promise he would never go away.
And now I do believe, to this day together they remain
Happy never to have to be apart again.
