Faith Poem by Christopher Montalvo

Faith

(Dedication/Inspiration: Payable on Death aka P.O.D.)

From the grueling streets of Southtown,
One mic and my roots in stereo,
We live and die through our music,
Mistakes and glories as we run,
Seeking the wise,
Teachers of our revolution,
Changing the world like wildfire,
The new wave of freedom fighters.

As I lie down,
Sleeping awake,
My dreams are filled with visions,
Images of the Hollywood lifestyle,
Eternal fame and remembrance,
Preaching the message,
Execute the sounds,
The reasons are immense,
The gifts are truly amazing.

When the lights were out,
We set it off,
Going in blind,
Celestial inspiration kept us alive,
The scenery glistening in full color,
Painting my self-portrait,
Thinking about forever,
Waiting on today,
When I find my way to heaven.

Addicted to the sun,
I know it can't rain everyday,
Basking in the light of your eyes,
Your satellite is my guiding light,
The strength of my life,
Lines and ties to the ghetto,
But I've set my eyes to Zion.
