Fake People Poem by Nana Mills

Fake People

Rating: 1.5

Fake People
So you walk around with a huge smile, yet envy instills burning hate and desire in your heart
So you sit there and talk about profanity?
Why should it matter what my hair looks like?
What?
Do you provide for me?
Did you give me life?
Are you not just as ratchet?
Fake people, you make me angry with your fake smiles, your fake laughter, but most all, your fake, two faced lies.
Why must I scream before you know that you're still worthless, no matter how many insults you throw at me?
Huh?
So you walk around with new clothes and new friends.
They say you are only as good as the people you hang around.
Fake people, Fake friends, fake life
That's all you will ever have.
So don't worry.
I am no where near affected by your words.
I will not cry, and my heart will not lurch towards you.
But remember this,
My caring heart- -that's real
My poetic genius- that's real
These spoken words- that's real
So unlike you, I will never be fake.
