Faking A Smile Poem by Nicholas Wayde Turner

Faking A Smile

They told me it’ll get better
But they didn’t know we were planning on forever
Faking a smile isn’t what I signed up for
The sadness is going right down to the core
I’m getting weaker and weaker each day
And everyone has told me to pray
But what does a man do when he wants you?
You are the love of my life, and that’s never going to change
I’ll fake the smile until I get out of this cage
