Fall Planting Poem by John McCornack

Fall Planting

In Oklahoma we still plant wheat in the fall
So we can have cow pasture in the spring
But sometimes the rain does not fall in fall
Then the cows don't have much of anything

But if the cow farmers have just a little luck
And their wheat fields are covered with snow
The wheat then turns green and cows get fat
And then farmers end up rolling in the dough
