Fallen Poem by Mitchell Long

Fallen

Secrets syntax subtle silence
Argons; jargons
Cants that cant, thief of thieves
The slangs of simple which are gone
A hardened maiden weeps of weaves

Common colds comes the falling
Falling leaves gently calling
Calling maidens, leaves to thee
Of the trees, trees of me

Plain and placid came the silence
Subtle silence known to thee
Long ago came the migrants
With the migrants came the trees
With the trees came the leaves
Of the leaves, leaves of me

Of the maidens, came the falling
The falling of the syntax leaves
From my mother came the calling
The calling of the falling trees
