Falling Poem by Liz Annson

Falling

can feel the weight falling off my shoulders
Though only moments ago it sat heavy
I can feel the slip and slide of water
Though only moments ago I was dry as a desert.
Moments ago, I couldn't breathe.
Moments ago, I couldn't see.
Only moments ago, colour was bleached from my sight.
Alright.
But now with a flick of a pen
Wavy lines on paper
Drawing the ocean lifts my mood
Makes me fly upwards into the night
Euphoria fills me as I draw the sun
Red tints on the water
Sun drowning in my burden
And falling, I follow after.
