Fame And Friendship (A Song) Poem by Jade Leven

Fame And Friendship (A Song)

To my friends... the question is...can I bear to leave you behind?

I have always known
my future lies so far from home
so much to be proud of
I would lose it all...for this different kind of love

there's always gonna be tough weeks
and city streets
and things that I can't say
there's always gonna be nightmares
and cold stares
but I will find a way
there's always gonna be airplanes
and changed names
and light shining through
there's always gonna be crossed lines
and hard times
but what will happen to me
if there's not always gonna be... you

I don't think anyone has realized
I'm a failure, a failure on the inside
because I feel more important things
because I notice the pain that fame can bring

there's always gonna be tough weeks
and city streets
and things that I can't say
there's always gonna be nightmares
and cold stares
but I will find a way
there's always gonna be airplanes
and changed names
and light shining through
there's always gonna be crossed lines
and hard times
but what will happen to me
if there's not always gonna be... you

I'd do more than it seems
I'd give up my dreams
just to have you on the ride
I don't need to be on stage
I just need minimum wage
and a place by your side

there's always gonna be tough weeks
and city streets
and things that I can't say
there's always gonna be nightmares
and cold stares
but I will find a way
there's always gonna be airplanes
and changed names
and light shining through
there's always gonna be crossed lines
and hard times
but what will happen to me
if there's not always gonna be... you

I could be a star
I could get so far
or I could just be
where you are
