Poet's Notes about The Poem

We were at a our best friends birthday bash last night, and the conversation was flowing as freely as the liquor, and we started to talk about plans for our 25th Anniversary and I looked at the candle on the table... at the flame- and I wrote this, and read it aloud to my Wife, Victoria, in front of everybody there. It was quite a moment.

What a realistic way to look back on the married life, right at the brink of 25th anniversary. Amqzing, I was also thinking with same kind of feelings. If I penned my feelings just the way you did, perhaps it would have been quite similar. Best wishes for your sweet anniversary! I enjoyed the poem to the maximum. (Report) Reply

How sweet. I appreciate the slight hint of realisticness. The author was smart to add that there were bad times. It helps the reader to identify more than if the author had only mentioned things being perfect. What a testament to marriage and life. (Report) Reply
