Fantasy Poem by Ray Tatenda Mutizwa

Fantasy

mentally this I what I envision
your head safely resting on my laps
with my fingers gently stroking your curly hair
sounds of your heartbeat in my ears I hear
your gentle breath blowing in my face
the scent of your perfume diffusing in my nostrils

imagination take to this place
where I found us all alone
in a beautiful garden just us
a place beckoning love and peace
so serene and calm you are in my presence
you look angelic and divinely at rest

dreams of brighter days for us is what I see
every timeI close my eyes to sleep
I find you at the same venue
patiently and expectantly you are waiting for me
a gleam of joy is visible on your face
as you see me approaching from a distant
then you leap as you charge towards me
where I childlike receive you in my arms
whirling you up in the air, jovially embracing you

all that this could be reality
how I wish I could see this day
to have these dreams come true
the challenge is I have not seen you
neither do I have a clue of to do that
you are more of an imaginary being
to be precise an angelic person
whom to relate with is impractical

however the frequency of the dreams
the constant imaginations
and the clearer the mental pictures I see of us
are more convincing than the reality
faith and courage in me they build
strengthening the desire to see the day of reality come
