Farewell, Mr. Writer's Block Poem by Alexzia Ferdinand

Farewell, Mr. Writer's Block

'write me a poem'
he said he said
'the grass is all dead
and i have nothing left'

'the words aren't here! '
she screamed she screamed
with thoughts to redeem
and dictionaries cracked open and bled

'i'm feeling so empty'
he cried he cried
(forcing empathy on lies)
'and i'm full of gaping spaces'

'my inspiration's spent'
she shouted she shouted
(not fighting just doubted)
and armed with no cliches

'i'm leaving i'm leaving'
he cursed he cursed
'you've no rhyming verse
and i'm not blue, i'm orange'

Goodbye, Goodbye
she waved she waved
now with only time to save
picked up her discarded pen
