Fate Plays Its Part. Poem by Rm. Shanmugam Chettiar

Fate Plays Its Part.

I shall do: doing is pleasant.
I’ve to do: having done is pleasant.
I’m bound to do; doing is unpleasant.

Fortune strikes: a happy moment.
Fortune skips: an unhappy moment.
Misfortune hits: a bitter moment.

Heaven is not entirely in my hand.
Hell is not entirely my outcome.
