Fate Twists When Our Desires Burn Poem by Brett White

Fate Twists When Our Desires Burn

Fate twists when our desires burn...
I'll love you even should the world not turn.
Because there is the most hope in heart-break;
My Love for you, I shall never think to forsake.
And Father Time passes at such a rate,
That before you notice it, hope it's not too late.
Because lost Time shall never return,
And Time is lost without her for whom I yearn.
But God sees and with my heart cries,
Because He nor I wish for a love that dies.
And through the Grace of Heaven, my tears dry;
Without my lost love, even in my dreams of you, I sigh.
My Soul's creed I shall not ever fight,
And never shall I not try to your heart delight.
But life like a Southern sunset fades,
And my conscience my Soul upbraids.
