Father Poem by gage berg

Father

Father

The girl, scared and deceived
sat in the corner while her mother grieved
the war had started, and nothing was left
what was once called earth was then called death

The hordes, by hundreds they came
feeding on humans, torn and slain
The earth was broken, destroyed and some
then the hero came, second to none

He flashed through the air, a beam of light
striking them down in the dead of night
by the thousands they fell, beat and defeated
but many more were to come, completely protrusive

Thousands upon him he dropped to one knee
smashed his sword down and uttered a plea
as power and light filled the air
he couldn't understand how can this be fair
The girl was awoke by a flash of light
and look outside in the middle of the night
all of the creature had ceased to stand
and her father was in the middle sword in hand
