Father Figure Poem by Dannielle Bratt

Father Figure

Rating: 2.5

You fill in
The best you can
For the absence he left me

You try to make me feel
As though my lifeus worth living
Even though he is gone

You say that you are there to talk to
No matter what is goning on

You talk tone like a father
Saying at my sweet 16
you saw a young woman

But you can
He is my father
And now that he has no time for me
Now that his girl friend is more important to him
The little hope that I had is gone

There us nothing that you can do or say
I love you too
But it's not the same
