Father: Forgive Me Poem by Ma Eugenia Carrasco

Father: Forgive Me

It must have harmed you
When I came and
Caused frustration.

Forgive Me Father,
I just intended to attract your attention
And wanted to get your love.

Forgive Me Father,
For I didn’t understood why your contempt,
It must have been difficult to have
An unwished son, and
To deal with him.

Forgive Me Father,
I didn’t know,
I didn’t understand,
That my sole presence was awkward,
I get it now.

Forgive Me Father,
I just wanted your love and
A fake tenderness would have sufficed
For I wouldn’t let you down.

Forgive Me Father,
I know it now,
I was the product of an error and
I am all guilty for my existence
As I hurt you.
