Fatherless Poem by Preston Alcaraz

Fatherless

How much time was lost?
Why did prison have to be his cost?
I thought I knew you
Now it seems as if I had no clue
We used to be close
But now we are apart
Time will change this I suppose
If only you knew what has happened to my heart
Sometimes I blame all this on myself
This can not be good for my health
I can not help but think of what went wrong
I just wish you were not gone

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem is dedicated to my father who is in prison as of right now. I miss him very much and wanted to express it in this poem.
