Fear Poem by Chris Schleier, Jr.

Fear

Fear is the shock.
The bolt that
crashes
down.

It is the lightning
that destroys
a man's
town.

Fear is a brick
constructed
in a
wall.

It is the height.
The thickness:
stories
tall.

Fear is the poison.
The venom.
Killing
you.

Hold it inside
and it will
turn you
blue.

Fear is the thief.
The silent
demon
takes

Pride. Joy. Ethic.
All the things
a man
makes.
