Fear Poem by Melissa Gray

Fear

Rating: 5.0

All these natural fears,

Seem so crystal clear,

Left inside her heart,

Threatening to tear her apart.

Living inside her troubled soul,

Only the good Lord knows,

Trying desperately to place them aside,

Hoping they don't find the place she hides.

She's praying every night for them to go away,

You just have to be patient, they all say,

She can't hold on much longer,

But she can't let them destroy her.

Day in and day out,

Fighting all her doubt,

Building inside her, pain of the past,

Oh, to be free at last.

It's been so long since she's felt whole,

She's working towards her goal,

To find herself again,

To break the chains.

She knows it's possible,

To be free, she knows its probable,

She knows that she has a choice,

To look for a hope, or end her own voice.

She desperately searches for a way,

A way to finally be okay,

In the end it will be all right,

Slowly she's making it through the night.

The light is breaking through the clouds of gray,

Revealing a hope through the fray,

If only she could see it,

If only to believe it.
