Fear 8 Poem by Prathibha Nandakumar

Fear 8

I was the brave one

He is afraid, he said

To get involved
To give in
To take on the mantle
To yield to temptation

I concealed my faith
In hundred queries
In fiddling with shredded tresses
In following him to his door
The puppy from the streets

He is afraid he said

To feed the dog

I got used to hunger

I am the brave one.
