Fear Of A Broken Heart Poem by Eric Joseph Lopez

Fear Of A Broken Heart

A time to remember all good things, for the first time in many years his heart sings
A time of age when a boy that love a girl, who he admires no one but her in this big world
A time to feel free and enjoy his life, to have hopes of someday she’ll be his wife
A time to feel peace, when his heart was at ease
A moment of silent, when things got violent
A smile behind a tear, living life with so many he fear
A moment to breathe, for failing he wants to succeed
A life to have with love, but flown away like a dove
A heart is a very pure thing indeed, as a soul which is in all of us you and me
A fear that grip his past, now watches everyone behind their mask
A race to the finish line, but faith wasn’t kind
A tangle of a web, like a fool he was left for dead

A woman now in his heart, after so many years they part
A woman who has a past and fears of her own, which almost everyday it will be shown
A new life wants to begin, but the fears of the past seems to be their sin
A hope for a brighter tomorrow, with only joy and no more sorrow
A prisoner in his own heart, but wasn’t that way from the start
A blooming of friendship like the flowers in a garden, then slowly wither as the heart slowly harden
A test of faith is what it seems, like a nightmare no longer in his dreams
A love that wants to grow, but fear grips the soul and they both don’t want to let go
A hard time for the both, but don’t want to see it sailing away on a boat
A love that was put together by two, doesn’t want to kick it away like an old shoe
A life that will prosper when there is trust, for they fell in love not through lust
A love will bloom when the fears are gone and the trust are there, I really hope it will be near
