Fearful Lover Poem by Ardimus Caldwell

Fearful Lover

Rating: 4.0

I don't want to worry about losing you
Being to socially connected to misguiding networks that we shape our lives to
Take a step back into the 1800's and do this like real people use to do
Instead we hide behind our self pride and become scared of getting hurt
But forgetting the fact that we are only human
But I want to be different
I want to fall in love with your teeth
Your radiant smile would have me do back flips
Legless until the sun bleed blue tear drops
Hoping that somehow it finds its way to your doorstep in shape of my feeble heart
I want to be your protector
Sheltering your every emotions
Shielding them away from any other man's sight
Brainwashing your mind to think I was the only one made for you
And you were the only one made for me
Because I don't want to lose you
I want to stop being afraid of loving you
If I could I would reach into my chest
Opening up my ribcage and give you my heart
Because I love you
But I'm scared to
